Looking for low budget, yet high value, media production tips, tricks and gear suggestions? You’ve come to the right place.
In making community media support materials and posting them on YouTube over the past few years it became apparent that some aspects of this niche change fairly quickly. The lighting kit has already been updated, for example. Here we can post updates and discuss things more freely than in the YouTube comments section.
You’ll also find videos that aren’t on YouTube. This allows us to cover specific topics without having to wrap them up neatly for a general audience.
I have a variety of free courses up so far. If you’re just getting started making content with your phone, have a look at ZBM: Zero Budget Media Production. For a slightly deeper dive into best value equipment upgrade options and more in-depth techniques head to Zero Budget Season 2. If you’re already on your way and looking for how to make a video from start to finish head to Production Example: Putting it All Together. I also settled on Davinci Resolve as the editing program because of the robust free version (!) and the one-time payment Studio version: Getting Into Davinci Resolve.
All of the videos that make up the free courses (and many others) are also available on the Studio Tips YouTube channel.
